NETBALL VIC SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Great result for our girls’ netball team this week. They won their division in the qualifying round of the Netball Vic Schools Championships and now progress to the finals on Thursday, 14th September. They won all five games comfortably, with their closest result being an 18 – 5 win over the second-placed team. Team members were Em Cossar, Makayle Dole, Em Gray, Georgia Lowther, Danielle Markwell, Kelsey Ralph, Kate Salvador, Keisha Tonzing, Keely Wilson, and coach Carol Cathcart.

Our boys’ netball team also produced some very good results. They finished with four wins, two losses, and a draw to finish in fourth place. If not for the draw, and a loss by a single goal in another game, they would have finished in equal first place. Well done to team members Wade Donnan, Kane Farrell, Bailey Henderson, Liam Marciano, Tom Nunn, Billy Robertson, Seb Spijkerman, and coach Kate Denman.

 

BIG WIN IN AFL SUN COUNTRY CUP

The BSSC 2nd XVIII football team had a big win against Braemar College at Castlemaine this week. The boys ran away with the game in the second half, kicking eight goals to one, and won 13.7.85 to 3.9.27.

Goals:

Ash Mayo 3, Riley Matricardi 3, Jordan Amor 2, Nathan Leed 2, Nathan Murley 1, Tom Nunn 1, Jack Thompson 1.

Best players:

Leyton Chisholm, Charlie Mathieson, Will Allen, Nathan Murley, Riley Matricardi

The team now progresses to the AFL Sun Country Cup Inter-Regional Final against the winner from the AFL Goldfields Region, Daylesford High School. The game will be played on Tuesday, 22nd August at Castlemaine.
