Students in Warren Suttons Cisco class gained some great advice on future study and employment today, with a visit from former student and Bendigo Bank cadet Alex Stewart-Peterson.

Alex graduated from BSSC in 2013 and took up a cadetship with the Bendigo Bank while studying a Bachelor of IT at La Trobe part-time.

He gave some great insight to students about the advantages of working for a large organisation while you study, the opportunities that the degree course offers, and what’s required to succeed in the world of IT.

“It’s all about communication,” he said. “Work places want people who can talk tech, but also talk business. It’s about building good relationships and being able to work well with people.”

Alex gave students some great tips for making the most of local opportunities in both further study and employment.
