Wow! What a VCAL Market Day!

There was an amazing array of stalls, games, music, food (oh, the food!!) raffles and fun stuff. VCAL students have been busy sewing, designing, planting, constructing, knitting, cooking and packaging goods as diverse as mosaics and scarves; spring rolls and hampers; plants and fairy floss.

In gorgeous spring weather the plaza filled quickly as the whole BSSC community joined in the fun. As usual, there was something for everyone and all proceeds will go to local community charities.

Music this year included a Year 11 band—which is yet to be named—that comprised of Liam Wernert, Aaron Mannix, Ryan Oppat, Kristian Knight and Tom Forrest. The band was followed by two solo acts, Jess Leys and Caitlyn Steer, who gave two great vocal performances, both accompanying themselves—Jess on ukulele and Caitlyn on guitar.

Local Bendigo businesses and individuals have outdone themselves. VCAL Market Day would not be nearly as fantastic without their generous donations. One generous mum even donated some of the jewellry she makes.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to one of the highlights of BSSC’s Wellbeing Week.
