The 2017 Last Day of Year 12 celebrations saw the Ullumbarra plaza packed with Pop Culture icons, pirates, super heroes, world leaders, religious figures—even Oscar the grouch was there!

But one who really made the day special was Mary Poppins—none other than our Principal Linda Lyons—replete with umbrella and flower carpet-bag.

The DJs had the plaza jumping as all these wonderfully costumed characters danced their feet (or paws) off while simultaneously tucking into a cooked brekky of mammoth proportions.

The day was capped off by the annual fancy dress parade, with each character or group taking to the Ullumbarra stage, hoping to take out the coveted first prize. This year, it was the ‘golden’ trophies (pictured below) who succeeded.

As BSSC students prepare for their final exams, this day of fun and celebration provides a last opportunity to all be together before they head off into their futures. Congratulations to our Year 12s for embracing the day in such a positive and respectful way.
