Students preparing for BSSC’s production of ‘Almost, Maine’ are in their final rehearsals and looking forward to performing what will be a captivating crowd-pleaser.

The mythical town, Almost, in the US state of Maine, is the setting for nine scenes that occur simultaneously in different places at 9 pm on a Friday in the middle of winter. Love—found and lost—is the continuous theme.

A New York Times review described Almost, Maine as “a series of nine vignettes about love, with a touch of good-natured magic realism…a beautifully structured play, with nifty surprise endings (most, but not all of them happy) and passing references to characters from other vignettes, which slyly tell us more about them. ”

Playwright, John Cariani, describes the play’s subject as ‘falling in and out of love.’ “It is just as much about pain,” he said.

With three nights to choose from, the participating students look forward to welcoming the entire College community to this fabulous production.
