Congratulations to the seven members of our cross-country team who have all qualified for the SSV finals early next term after performing well at this week’s Loddon Mallee Region finals in St Arnaud. In the girls 17-20 year event, Gabby Rusbridge and Maddison Hooke finished 3rd and 7th respectively to qualify for the individual event at state finals. In the boys’ 17-20yr race, Jake Hilson (11th), Reza Azimi (12th), Riley Hillier (14th), Campbell Ireland (17th), and Luke Hartland (27th) all qualified for the teams event at the state finals. The SSV finals will be held at Bundoora on Thursday 20 July.
Boys qualify for AFL Premier League semi-finals
Our boys have progressed to the semi-finals of the SSV AFL Premier League competition after a great win against Box Hill SSC this week. We will host the semi-final on Wednesday, 21 June against Hallam SC.
The game against Box Hill SSC was close all day, with BSSC leading by five points at quarter-time, 14 points at half-time, and five points at three-quarter-time, before pushing the final margin out to 14 points at the final siren. Final scores were 9.10.64 to 8.2.50.

Belle wins silver medal in weightlifting
Belle Harwood claimed a silver medal last weekend at the Australian Weightlifting Federation National Championships in Hobart. This was a great achievement, given that she was competing in the U/20 division and still has two years left in this age group. Belle ended up with lifts of 68kg in the snatch, and 87kg in the clean and jerk. Congratulations Belle. Well done!!
Zane in state cricket squad
Congratulations to Zane Keighran who has been selected in the Victorian Country U/17 trial cricket squad. He will train over the next two months, with the final squad to be selected in August to compete at the Cricket Australia U/17 National Championships in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast commencing late September. Well done Zane and good luck!!
