Kicking off on Monday with a free barbecue and activities and stalls from community youth organisations, 2016 Wellbeing Week was a huge success.

Thank you to the staff and students who contributed their time, donations and enthusiasm to all of the events.  Random acts of kindness across the week also contributed to the fantastic atmosphere around the college.

On Wednesday students had a ball in the Language Centre at Lunchtime. They were entertained by live music, participated in fun activities and queued for the opportunity to capture some great memories with friends at the photo booth.

The skies cleared on Thursday for our huge VCAL Market Day with excellent live music, handcrafted and recycled goods, international foods, games and activities that raised more than $3000 for local charities and organisations.

Wellbeing Week closed on Friday with ‘Wear it Purple’ day to celebrate Diversity and Inclusion at BSSC.  Student Council took over the Ulumbarra Plaza with their Clothes and Book Swap highlighting sustainable fashion. There was freshly made juices, soup and coffee – all absolutely free. Splashes of purple all around the college showed support for everyone’s right to be proud of who they are!

Wellbeing Week is always a great chance to focus on good physical, emotional and mental health. With exams getting closer, it is a timely reminder for students (and staff) to take care of themselves and their friends.
