Congratulations to BSSC’s boys netball team on being crowned SSV State Champions last Monday. They went through the round-robin games undefeated and finished on top of their pool, setting up a semi-final clash against McKinnon SC. A comfortable 25-14 win put them into the final against Lavalla Catholic College.
The boys saved their best netball for the final and ran away with a 19-4 win. Well done to Lachie Ratcliffe, Simon Dundas, Mitch Keuken, Tyler McLeod, Cal Draper, Donte Thomas, Sam Milne, Keo Payne.
Reflecting on their win, Coach Kara Fox said that after 16 years of taking BSSC’s Boys Netball teams to Melbourne we have finally won the State Finals – something BSSC has never achieved before.
“I am so proud of them. They have been a great bunch to take away they conducted themselves in a manner that earned them praise from management and did our school proud.
“Drew Cathcart does a wonderful job with all our sporting teams and I would like to publically thank him for the time and effort he puts in,” Kara added.
“It was great to see some of our girls also help out with umpiring, training, warm ups and coaching. Thanks Nicola McIvor, Elley Lawton and Milly Wicks.”
