Students in the Specialist Sports Program were treated to an inspiring Life Skills Session on Monday with a visit by Bendigo Spirit star Kelsey Griffin.

Kelsey shared her journey from growing up in Eagle River Alaska, and playing college basketball for the University of Nebraska, to moving Down Under, winning two WNBL Championships with Bendigo, and becoming an Australian citizen.

Students had lots of questions for Kelsey, including how she deals with pressure, how to reconcile family with a sporting career, and how to find happiness when balancing sport, study and relationships.

Kelsey talked about the success that comes from playing your role in a team, the importance of nutrition and staying healthy, and keeping a sense of perspective about life after professional sport.

Kelsey is an incredibly humble and community-minded person, and BSSC thanks her for her time and generosity.
