BSSC’s Trade Training Centre was full of excitement this morning, as students heard from industry experts at an event as part of National Skills Week.

The Industry Engagement Breakfast—designed to link trade experts with students—was a wonderful chance for our students to explore pathways and possibilities for life beyond BSSC.

Stallholders shared a delicious hot brekky with students and staff—but, most importantly, shared their knowledge about their field of work.

Students had the chance to speak with potential employers about job and apprenticeship opportunities.

Workplace Learning Coordinator, Mel Payne, says she received lots of positive feedback about conversations between students and industry reps.

“It was great to see so many students attend and engage with employers, industry representatives and trade trainers,” she says.

“Our students conducted themselves with maturity and made the most of the opportunity to speak with our visitors.”

Our Trade Training Centre was the perfect space to showcase BSSC’s facilities and give businesses an idea of how job-ready our students will be, at the end of their schooling.
