Country bus travel

The School Bus Program (SBP) provides transport assistance for eligible families in rural and regional Victoria via the Student Travel Assistance Portal.

Categories of eligibility determine whether a student travels at no cost or travels upon the payment of a fare. To find out if your child is eligible for the School Bus Program, click here.

• New Country Bus Travellers for 2025 apply online via the Student Travel Assistance Portal when applications open later this term.
• Existing travellers that change schools or address, need to lodge a new application with their existing account and accept the emailed offer when it is received.
• Orientation Day/Step up – All country bus students will need an Adhoc travel pass completed and approved if travelling on the Country Bus Network to their new 2025 school. This is available from your current school or the BSSC General Office.
• Any questions can be referred to the Bus or Transport contact at your current school, the BSSC General Office or to the region’s country bus coordinator via email – buscoord@bse.vic.edu.au.
