VET Engineering and VET Electrotechnology skills were put to good use by Year 11 BSSC student, Bailey Bolitho, when he spent a week completing Structured Workplace Learning at Industrial Conveying (Aust) Pty Ltd (ICA).

Bailey took the opportunity to explore electrical systems, assembly and maintenance to construct automated docking systems, pallet conveyors and a range of other innovative systems.

“Once I’ve finished school I’d like to be an Industrial Electrician,” he says. “I hope to get an apprenticeship.”

“I wouldn’t mind doing domestic electrical work as well—a bit of both is what I’d really like to do.”

Bailey found the conveying systems and the many trades involved in the manufacturing process really interesting.
