BSSC Year 12 student, Ted Maher, recently gained practical insight in the electrical trade, through Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) with C & K Electrical Services.
Ted is studying VET Building & Construction and was keen for some hands-on experience as a tradie. He spent a week on-site, applying his skills and assisting the qualified electricians in a variety of ways and really enjoyed being involved.
Ted said he felt well supported by the staff and felt SWL enhanced his knowledge and understanding of the trade.
“I definitely want to get an apprenticeship,” says Ted. “Being out on different sites and learning how varied the jobs can be has helped me decide that this is what I want to do as a career.”
