Year 11 BSSC student, Sam Foster, is studying VET Automotive and has a keen interest in diesel mechanics.
He recently took the opportunity to spend a week of Structured Workplace Learning at Bendigo Truck Centre, in Golden Square.
Sam was able to apply skills he has already acquired in the servicing of heavy vehicles. He worked on brakes, clutches and transmissions as well as general engine repairs and maintenance.
He was happy to be covered in grease and oil and said, “I’ve loved it, getting stuck into the engines, servicing the trucks and changing brakes. I’ve been able to do lots of the work which has been really satisfying.
“I’ve also learnt a lot from the other mechanics here.”
