Great start for BSSC cricketers
Congratulations to the BSSC boys cricket team on winning the Sandhurst Division competition this week. In the morning game they made 229 off their 20 overs to defeat Castlemaine SC who were bowled out for 112. Jack Bourke (66), Braydon Vaz (63) and Ryan O’Keefe (54) were the top scorers, while Kayde Howard (3 for 27) and Nahid Hossain (2 for 19) were the leading wicket-takers.
In the afternoon game the BSSC boys made 8 for 157 and were able to restrict Catherine McAuley College to 7 for 151. Braydon Vaz and Jack Bourke got amongst the runs again, making 71 and 49 respectively. Kayde Howard again picked up two wickets, as did Kyal Rasmussen, with all bowlers being fairly economical.

The boys now qualify for the Loddon Mallee Region finals on Tuesday 13 March.
Victorian Schools Triathlon championships
The Victorian Schools Triathlon Championships will be held at Elwood Beach in Melbourne on Sunday 4 March. There are two distances offered for individuals and teams:
- 200m/10km/2km – Junior, Intermediate and Senior
- 400m/10km/4km – Intermediate and Senior

Weet-Bix kids TRYathlon – volunteers needed
The Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon will be conducted in Bendigo (Queen Elizabeth Oval) on Sunday 4 March between 6:00am and 12:30pm. Volunteers are urgently needed to assist with the running of this event. The hours worked at the event can be counted towards Community Service hours. Volunteers must at least 15 years of age.

School Sport Victoria – State team trials
Each year, talented Victorian School students have the opportunity to trial for a place in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic State team. Selected students participate in annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships including the Pacific School Games (PSG) held every second year. These championships offer gifted and talented students the opportunity to participate in higher levels of sporting competition against students from other Australian States and Territories.
