Unit 3-4 Literature students had an otherwise daunting text brought to life and made accessible today, when the Complete Works Theatre Company visited the college.

Complete Works Artistic Director, Andrew Blackman, along with actors Lachie, Annabelle and Wolfie performed key scenes from the Anton Chekhov tragicomedy Uncle Vanya, prompting valuable discussion with students and unpacking the characters, major themes, symbolism and present day relevance of the text.

The conversation covered an incredibly broad subject matter, from the mundanity of existence, to environmental issues, beauty standards for women, love and fidelity, alcoholism and the class system.

A BIG thank you to Andy, Lachie, Annabelle and Wolfie for not only enabling students to gain a greater understanding of their study text, BUT for a hugely entertaining workshop.
