Year 11 Photography students gained valuable insights into the world of fine art photography today when award-winning artist, Lauren Starr, visited their classroom.

Lauren challenged the students with questions such as “Why do you take photos” and “What inspires you?” while also sharing her own 10-year journey in the industry, from baby photographer to fine artist.

She also shared her creative process, from the sketching and planning stage, to the photoshoot, the editing stage and finally printing.

Lauren encouraged students to think, ‘how can I use what I already have, and what can I access for free’?

She also gave students a sneak preview of her latest project, inspired by women of the Goldfields.

Thank you, Lauren for sharing your expertise and inspiration so generously.
